EverHeart Hospice Welcomes Dr. Julia Bowlin as New Medical Director

EverHeart Hospice is honored to announce that Julia A. Bowlin, M.D. has been appointed as its new Medical Director, stepping into the role with both deep gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to serve the community in this sacred way.
Dr. Bowlin has practiced family medicine for more than 30 years and is well-known in the Greenville area for her compassionate care and commitment to her patients. While her clinical roots are in family practice, she is no stranger to hospice. From 1996 to 2000, she served as a hospice medical director in North Carolina, an experience that left a lasting impact on her understanding of end-of-life care.
Over the past year, Dr. Bowlin has had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Hosbach, who has faithfully served EverHeart Hospice and surrounding counties for more than 30 years. “I am incredibly blessed to have been trained and supported by Dr. Hosbach during this transition,” said Dr. Bowlin. “His compassion, wisdom, and dedication to hospice care are a true gift to this community, and it is an honor to follow in his footsteps.”
In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Bowlin is a certified professional coach and speaker, using her background to support healthcare professionals in navigating stress, burnout, and the emotional weight of caring for others. She hopes to bring this same balance of clinical expertise and personal support to the hospice team and families that EverHeart serves.
“As Medical Director, my goal is simple,” Dr. Bowlin shared. “To ensure that every patient and family experiences comfort, dignity, and connection during one of the most important seasons of life. Hospice is about honoring each person’s story, and I’m humbled to walk alongside our team in that mission.”
