EverHeart Hospice Unveils Joyful Memories Wall to Honor Loved Ones

March 3, 2025

EverHeart Hospice is proud to announce the dedication of its “Joyful Memories” wall, a heartfelt initiative designed to honor and remember loved ones while paying tribute to Joy Marchal, the organization’s former CEO who passed away in December 2023. The dedication ceremony was held at the EverHeart Hospice Inpatient Care Center on Friday, February 28th, with the Marchal family placing the first butterfly in honor of Joy.

The Joyful Memories Wall is a beautiful mural that allows families and friends visiting patients in EverHeart’s Care Center to share their cherished memories and express their feelings of grief. Each butterfly on the wall represents a loved one and serves as a symbol of the enduring impact they have had on the lives of those around them.

“We are excited to kick off the “Joyful Memories” wall and provide a space for families to celebrate the lives of their loved ones,” shared Kristi Strawser, current CEO at EverHeart Hospice. “This wall is a testament to the love and memories that continue to live on in our hearts.”

The dedication ceremony was attended by members of the Marchal family, EverHeart Hospice leadership team, and clinical team members from the Care Center. The event also featured a brief speech by Joy’s husband, John, who proudly shared his memories of Joy and the significance of this tribute as he placed two very special butterflies on the wall
