EverHeart Hospice Volunteer with her therapy dog

EverHeart Hospice Volunteer, Beck, with her service dog, Zoey, who makes visits with Hospice patients.

EverHeart Hospice, founded in 1981 under the name Hospice of Darke County, Inc., was started by a group of volunteers. Now, 43 years later, EverHeart Hospice has flourished thanks to those volunteers and their hard work and dedication.

Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to make a statement of joy and honor with your life. It provides the feeling that you are part of a team, making a positive difference in the world. EverHeart Hospice currently has a team of volunteers that serve both our Indiana and Ohio agencies in many ways. Below you will find just a few examples, but we are always open to other skills you may offer to our agency as a volunteer.

Under the Hospice Medicare Benefit, all hospice organizations must have 5% of their total patient care hours provided by volunteers. By becoming a volunteer at EverHeart Hospice, you can help us honor our patients’ lives with trusted care.
